Community Forum – Windsor Heights Community Centre
The St. Catherine Municipal Corporation on Thursday, March 23, 2023 hosted its first of many community forums at the Windsor Heights Community Centre, Windsor Heights, St. Catherine.
More than 100 residents gathered at the community forum to listen to the Agencies presentations and to voice their concerns on issues such as; road infrastructure, repairs to defective street lights, lack of water, acquisition of land title that are affecting them in their community.
The Community Forums are geared towards identifying some of the challenges communities within the parish are faced with and for citizens to have a better rapport with the Municipal Corporation as the Local Planning Authority as well other Agencies within the parish.
The vibrant and spirited discussion concluded with Mayor Scott assuring the gathering that their concerns and recommendations would be given careful consideration by the Municipality and the respective agencies, and all efforts would be made to find amicable solutions where possible.
Member of Parliament Denise Daley who was present, concurred with the statement made by Mayor Scott and stated that follow-up meetings would be held to provide an update on the progress made.
The St. Catherine Municipal Corporation sincerely thanked the respective agencies such as the St. Catherine South Police Division, National Water Commission, Social Development Committee, National Solid Waste Management Authority, Parish Development Committee and the St. Catherine Health Department for their support and participation as; we continue to work collaboratively in our bid to serve the parish.
