Under–subsection 54 and 177 of the Road Traffic Act that gives the Corporation power to make the following rules as approved by the Minister, sighted as Road Traffic (St. Catherine Municipal Corporation) (Parking and Parking Meters) rules 2005, as published in Gazette August 15, 2005.
“Better Parking for your Convenience”
The Permit Parking System came into effect May 1, 2008
Main Objective: Regulate parking, ease traffic congestion, create public order, and encourage space turnover.
