ST. CATHERINE PARISH COUNCIL SALUTES MEN
The idea that men are probable the last to be highlighted on any given day or on special occasions, if at all, was pushed way in the back seat when the St. Catherine Parish Council saluted over (120) men at a Celebratory Luncheon held in the Council’s Chamber, Emancipation Square, on Friday, November 20, 2015, just a day after International Men’s Day which was officially celebrated on November 19.
The males recognized are employees of the Council and Councillors; of the lot, six (6) were recognized particularly for Professional Development in various capacities of Council.
Guest Speaker was Mrs. Sharon Young-Palmer, Island Service Network Manager at the Dispute Resolution Foundation, Spanish Town. In her address to the males ‘she encouraged them to be positive role models, to always be there for their families, work hard, work smart and whatever the job is, as long as it is meaningful they should do it to the best of their ability”.
Nadine Sutherland was the guest entertainer and she did not fail in her delivery. She presented an invigorating performance that had the obviously excited male audience grooving to what some classified as ‘real old hits but goodies’.
The afternoon ended on an affirmative note and was rated as a momentous event that will not be forgotten.
