Launch of Linstead Town Centre

The Linstead Town Centre

  The parish of St. Catherine was selected as the model parish for the establishment of a Town Centre.
   The St. Catherine Parish Council and His Worship the Mayor Councillor Norman Scott is pleased to have hosted its official launch on
   Thursday, November 06, 2014, 1Rodney Hall Road, Linstead, St. Catherine. 
   Among the specially invited guests present were Hon. Noel Arscott, Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Hon. Colin Fagan,
   Minister of State in the Ministry of Local Government, Mrs. Dionne Jennings, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government,
   His Worship the Mayor of Clarendon, Councillor Scean Barnswell, to name a few. 

Other invited guests also in attendance were Councillors from the various Parish Council Divisions, The Jamaica Constabulary Force, Schools, and members of the Clergy, CDC, PDC and the SDC. There were also a host of other representation from the business community and public at large.

The Linstead Town Centre is the first of its kind and is a deliberate strategy to particularly improve town management and diversify the mode of service delivery for the St. Catherine Parish Council.  It will enable the better management of the affairs of the town and its surrounding communities and foster greater citizens and community participation.

Some of the services to be offered at the Centre will include applications for:
Barbers
Hairdressers
Butchers
Vendors
Burial on private lands
