Representatives Tour St. Catherine Infirmary

Representatives Tour St. Catherine Infirmary

The St. Catherine Infirmary on Thursday, August 10, was graced with the presence of the Honourable Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Desmond McKenzie and Mayor of Trinidad and Tobago, Glenn Ram for a tour of the Infirmary premises.

The tour was hosted by Chairman of the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation and Mayor of Spanish Town Councillor Norman Scott.  Present too were the Matron of the Infirmary, Councillors from both sides of the political divide, members of the Poor Relief Committee, and the Deputy Chief Engineering Officer of the Corporation’s Roads and Works Department.

The purpose of the tour was to observe the level of infrastructural and operational works that are being done on the Infirmary premises.

Mayor Ram was particularly interested in the solar system and was keen on getting a firsthand view and perhaps give consideration to implementing such a system in his own country.  He was also presented with a drawing of the historic Spanish Town Old Iron Bridge which was built in 1801.
