The St. Catherine Parish Council in association with the Jamaica Cultural Development Committee and the St. Catherine Joint Civic Affairs Committee hosted its annual Religious Service, Flag Raising and Civic Function on Wednesday, August 06, 2014 under the Theme – This is Jamaica…My Jamaica.
Among the activities undertaken were the reading of messages from The Governor General, The Prime Minister of Jamaica and The Leader of the Opposition.
The function was chaired by Mr. Gosma Buddoo, Chairman of the St. Catherine Joint Civic Affairs Committee. The Secretary/Manager of the St. Catherine Parish Council extended greetings on behalf of the members of staff and Reverend Colin Cousins from the Victory Open Bible Church delivered a brief Sermon.
There were cultural items and a One Hundred and Ninety-Five Uniformed Group Inspection and March Past. Salutes were taken by Platform Dignitaries: Rev’d. The Hon. Sophia Azan, C.D, Custos of St. Catherine and His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Norman Scott, Mayor of Spanish Town.
