Hurricane Season 2018 - No time to be steady, time to be ready!

The Parish Disaster Planning, Management and Safety Unit of the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation, uses this medium, to remind staff members and citizens of the parish that the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season’s theme is - there is no time to be steady, it is time to be ready!

Now is the time, if you have not already done so, to make an emergency plan and prepare a hurricane emergency kit. DO NOT wait until it is too late.

Do not take it for granted that every member of your household knows what to do when an emergency is declared. Share what you know with them.

Among the things your Basic Emergency Kit should include are:
Water - one gallon per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanitation.
Food - at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food – (e.g.) sardine/crackers
Battery-powered radio
Flashlight.
First aid kit.

Extra batteriesAgain we urge you, plan ahead and take responsibility for your own safety.

Be prepared and stay prepared!
