LABOUR DAY 2018!
Labour Day is Wednesday, May 23, 2018, and will be celebrated under the theme “Ramp it Up…Fix it Up”. The attention this year is in the areas of health and education.
The Parish Project will be held at the Old Harbour Bay Fishing Village, Old Harbour Bay, St. Catherine, commencing at 7:00 a.m. Activities will be focused on installing additional facilities to enhance the aesthetics of the fishing beach and the environment on a whole. This should include tiling, painting, carpentry, plumbing, general cleaning up of the area, electrical works among other things.
While we have partnered with other stakeholders and organizations to get the work done, the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation is spearheading the coordination of activities.
Given the fact that the National project for Labour Day will be carried out at the Cumberland Health Centre, Brunswick Avenue, Spanish Town, the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation will also be playing an integral role in its execution. The project commences at 10 a.m.
The Corporation looks forward to the full participation of all the parties involved. We implore you to put on the whole armour of service and volunteerism and make this Labour Day the productive and meaningful one it promises to be.
