SPANISH TOWN HOSPITAL GETS BLOOD PRESSURE MACHINES
Ten (10) blood pressure machines were donated to the Spanish Town Hospital.
The decision to make the donation came out of an agreement by members of a bi-partisan committee of the St Catherine Municipal Corporation's Disaster Preparedness and Climate Change Committee and the Spanish Town Hospital when they met a few weeks ago.
The presentation was made to the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Gregory Thomas by Chairman of the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation and Mayor of Spanish Town, Councillor Norman Scott, at its Monthly General Meeting held Thursday, May 11, 2017.
There to witness the occasion were Medical Officer (Health) St. Jago Health Centre, Dr. Francia Prosper Chen, Mayor or Portmore, Mr. Leon Thomas, Councillor Roogae Kirlew, Chairman of the Disaster Preparedness and Climate Change Committee and Councillor Owen Palmer.
Mayor Thomas was the first to be tested with the brand new device. Dr. Prosper-Chen did the honors.
The decision was made to donate those items to the hospital after Councillor Michael Edwards passed away after receiving treatment at the hospital.
