St. Catherine Municipal Corporation’s Property Tax Collection Drive Ongoing
The Tax Administration mobile unit concluded property tax collections at four locations within the parish on March 15, 16, 17 and 18, 2017, respectively.
The St. Catherine Municipal Corporation Property Tax Unit has been maintaining collection drives, setting up outstations at various locations within the parish and this is ongoing.
This corporation continues to urge residents of St. Catherine, all owners, occupiers or persons in possession of land, to pay their property taxes. Funds generated from property taxes play a vital role in sustainable development and economic growth, not only for this parish, but Jamaica on a whole and property taxes are used to finance property-related services in communities throughout Jamaica.
It pays for:
Maintenance and expansion of street lighting,
Collection and disposal of solid waste,
Community infrastructure and improvements,
Administration of Local Authorities,
Repairs to fire stations, and
Rehabilitation of parochial/farm roads.
Property Taxes can be paid online or at the nearest collectorate. Payments can be made by cash, debit or credit cards. And if you pay by cheque, take your TRN card with you.
