GREATER PORTMORE NORTH DIVISION
People's National Party candidate Gary Nicholson won the Greater Portmore North
by-election with a resounding 2,105 votes to Jamaica Labour Party’s Ann Marie Lewis’ 993 votes. Nicholson is expected to be sworn-in as Councillor at the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation’s Monthly General Meeting scheduled to be held Thursday, April 13, 2017.
The by-election was held as a result of the vacancy left subsequent to the sudden death of People’s National Party Councillor Michael 'Fisher' Edwards in January, 2017.
