ST. CATHERINE PARISH LABOUR DAY PROJECT SITE VISIT
Several St. Catherine Civic Affairs Committee members, headed by Chairman Mr. Gosma Budhoo, yesterday journeyed to the Riversdale community in St. Catherine to the 2016 Labour Day project site, with a view of examining the scope of work to be done.
Labour Day this year will be celebrated on Monday, May 23, under the theme – “our environment…our health”. The decision was taken for the parish project to be held in that community where volunteers from the various agencies, service clubs and of course the community, are expected on the day, to come out in their numbers and help to clean up a designated section of the community. The focus will be in the vicinity of the Health Centre, Police Station and Community Centre.
Agencies and clubs represented at the site visit were the Lions Club of South Central St. Catherine, National Youth Service, Social Development Commission, St. Catherine Fire Department, JUTC, Spanish Town Seventh Day Adventist/Lithomedia Printers and of course the St. Catherine Parish Council.
The team anticipates a very satisfying and productive Labour Day come Monday, May 23.
