And the Award Goes To….
Close to one hundred (100) individuals including companies, associations and groups were awarded at the recently held Board of Supervision Human Services Conference and Awards Ceremony held at Jewel Resort, Runaway Bay, St. Ann on Friday, March 17, under the theme, “Forging Ahead with Dignity”.
The awardees were recognized for Service to the Poor Relief Committee, Outstanding Contribution and Voluntary Service, Exemplary Contribution to Poor Relief and Exemplary Service Awards, Long Service and Special Mentions.
Keynote Speaker at the ceremony was Honourable Desmond Mckenzie, Minister of Local Government and Community Development. Mrs. Selena Hayle, Founder/President, Global Professional Inc., was Resource Speaker.
Among those representing the Board of Supervision were Corporate Secretary Mr. Barrington Parsons and Regional Managers Mrs. Vivinne Grant and Ms. Treka Lewis.
Chairman of the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation and Mayor of Spanish Town, Councillor Norman Scott and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Michael Morris were also present.
Mesdames Carol Archer, Acting Assistant Matron and Yvonne Mitchell, retired Inspector of Poor in the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation’s Poor Relief Department was also present to receive the Exemplary Service Awards, Long Service & Special Mentions and Service to the Poor Relief Committee, respectively.
The Board of Supervision is a statutory body operating under the portfolio of the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development; with the main responsibility to ensuring the less fortunate members of society are cared for.
