St. Catherine Parish Council 2015 Series of Community Fora


The St. Catherine Parish Council 2015 series of Community Fora kicked off in the Greendale Division, at the Greendale Community Centre, on Monday, January 26, 2015. Heading the list of Parish Council’s officials were His Worship the Mayor Councillor Norman Scott who is also the Councillor for the Greendale Division, and Mr. Michael Morris, Secretary/Manager.
 
Ms. Denise Daley, JP., Member of Parliament, St. Catherine Eastern was also in attendance. Other attendees included agency representatives from Jamaica Public Service Company Limited, National Water Commission, Ministry of Health, South Eastern Health Authority, National Solid Waste Management Authority, L.A.M.P., Social Development Commission and    Jamaica Constabulary Force, St. Catherine (North) Division.
 
Repairs to roads, drain cleaning, excavation of road by the NWC, request for Police presence in the Greendale area, request for repairs to street lights and poles and dust nuisance were just some of the concerns raised by citizens.
 
The fora are slated to run from January through to June 2015 and are geared towards giving citizens an opportunity to learn more about the roles and functions of the Council and other agencies and raise issues and concerns that might be affecting communities.
 
The next scheduled fora will be held at the Windsor Heights Community Centre, 1 Paisley Avenue, Windsor Heights, St. Catherine Wednesday, January 28, 2015 and Grateful Hill Primary School, Glengoffe, St. Catherine, Wednesday February 04, 2015 at 6:00 p.m., respectively.
 
The Community Forum trail continues on Mondays and Wednesdays.  All parties involved will be duly informed of any change(s) as we go along.
