ST. CATHERINE PARISH COUNCIL’S GENERAL MEETING

ST. CATHERINE PARISH COUNCIL’S GENERAL MEETING
Just over ten (10) Councillors were present in the St. Catherine Parish Council’s Meeting room at Emancipation Square on Thursday, January 14, 2016 when the first monthly general meeting of Council for the New Year was called to order by His Worship the Mayor of Spanish Town, Councillor Norman Scott.  The meeting which was slated to commence at 10:00 a.m., commenced at approximately 10:05 a.m.
Devotions were led by Pastor Damion Chambers, Director of Communication, Public Affairs and Religious Liberty in the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh Day Adventists. In his charge, he said that, “men all had something that God wanted; and what God wanted from us was the same thing that the politicians wanted; and that is for us to choose Him and do so freely.  He asked that we exercise our freedom of choice to God so that He will freely reward us”.
He then prayed to close.

The Chairman remarked that the charge was fitting to commence the New Year and asked everyone to reflect on the message, as they go through the year.

He welcomed members of staff, Councillors, the media and agency representatives to the meeting.  He wished everyone a pleasant and happy New Year and said that he hoped that all their dreams and aspirations will be realized this year.
