A proud Carol Archer posed on the grounds of Kings House for a photo after receiving the prestigious Badge of Honor Award for long and faithful service to the St. Catherine Infirmary.
 
The presentation was made at the Ceremony of Investiture and Presentation of National Awards held on National Heroes Day, Monday, October 16, 2017 on the lawns of King's House, under the distinguished patronage of Sir Patrick Allen, Governor General of Jamaica.
 
Mrs. Archer who has dedicated 38 years of service to the St. Catherine Infirmary, Monk Street, Spanish Town said, when she received the phone call from the Office of the Prime Minister, followed by an official letter, she was literally speechless.
 
"I felt honoured and extremely proud. I was bursting with joy, thinking that my hard work and dedication over the years have landed me national recognition. I love what I do at the Infirmary and I vow to continue to make a substantial contribution to making the lives of the residents as comfortable and meaningful as possible, said Mrs. Archer who is presently a Senior Nurse Aid at the Infirmary.
 
Former Inspector of Poor in the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation's Poor Relief Department, Mrs. Yvonne Mitchell also received the Badge of Honor award for long and faithful service at the national awards ceremony.
 
Mrs. Mitchell served in the system for over 40 years.
 
The St. Catherine Municipal Corporation proudly salutes Carol Archer and Yvonne Mitchell for their long and dedicated service to the system.
