St. Catherine Parish Council Youth Mayor 2015

Lance Scott is the St. Catherine Parish Council Youth Mayor for 2015. The decision for selection was mutually made by students from collaborating schools who also vied for the position.
 
Lance is a second year student at the University of the West Indies and is originally from the Ginger Ridge community in rural St. Catherine. He was recommended by Councillor Ralston Wilson, Councillor for the Ginger Ridge Division and Deputy Mayor for Spanish Town.

The Deputy Youth Mayor is Kevin Cameron also, a second year student at the University of the West Indies.  He is originally from Tawes Meadows, Spanish Town and was recommended by Councillor Kenisha Allen, Councillor for the Spanish Town Central Division.

The Youth Mayor will appear with other Youth Mayors from other parishes, on TVJ’s Morning Programme – Smile Jamaica. His second stop will be at Jamaica House for a Courtesy Call with The Most Hon. Portia Simpson Miller, Prime Minister of Jamaica; and finally a Speech Luncheon in the Alexandria Suite of the Four Seasons Hotel, 18 Ruthven Road, Kingston where he will be required to make a 5-minute presentation on the project which he intends to implement during his tenure, which will be for a year.
